Join the Movement to End Violence Against Women and Girls

This November, Birmingham will come together to demand an end to violence against women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Violence takes many forms, and people are targeted because of their race, religion, clothing, gender, sexuality, identity, and for standing up for equal rights and control over their own bodies.

Under the rallying cry of “Together We Rise”, the event invites all sisters—not just cisgender women—warriors, and survivors to unite. The organisers emphasise that trans women are women and non-binary people are valid, ensuring that no one is left behind in this fight for safety and justice.

Participants will march to demand an end to gender-based, sexual, and racially motivated violence, standing in solidarity with all women. The event also seeks to counter the narratives pushed by the far right, who have exploited concerns about women’s safety to spread racism and division. Organisers stress that these groups are not defenders of women; instead, they manipulate violence against women and children to advance hate.

To make the event vibrant and powerful, organisers are calling for female poets, musicians, spoken word artists, dancers, singers, street artists, drummers, and speakers to join the march. The aim is to make it loud, proud, and unyielding—a show that hate will never win when people stand together.

The march will take place on Sunday, 23rd November at 5 PM, starting at St Martin’s Square in Birmingham City Centre. This is more than a march—it is a declaration of unity and resistance. As the organisers affirm, unity is our strength.
