An exciting update from the team at BRIG Café
Since opening in October 2024, BRIG Café has become a vibrant community hub within the Friends of the Earth building in Digbeth. With deep roots in community activism, the café offers a warm, welcoming space paired with a delicious vegetarian and vegan menu.
By day, the café is a cosy spot where activists, organisations, students, remote workers, and regulars can work, relax, or connect. By evening, it transforms into an inclusive venue for gatherings and events — from Digbeth First Fridays, live music, and spoken word to poetry readings, book launches, and the ever-popular Chess Café, hosted by our very own Haji.
As we approach the festive season, we’re excited to share some wonderful news. To mark our first anniversary, we are partnering with a brilliant local vegan business: iHeartFood.
The founder of iHeartFood, Justice Campbell, has collaborated with BRIG for several years. We’ve always admired the passion he pours into his food, his values, and his work ethic. iHeartFood is a true family business, inspired by the influence and support of his siblings and his mother — a reminder of the strong community roots behind the brand.
As food is not our area of expertise, welcoming someone like Justice into the BRIG Café family is an incredibly positive step on our journey. We’re thrilled for what 2026 and the future will bring through this new partnership:
iHeartFood @ BRIG Café.
A Message from Justice and iHeartFood
At iHeartFood, our passion has always been simple: making good, honest vegan food that brings people together. Our team is made up of lifelong vegans and self-taught cooks who genuinely love what they do. We believe in real flavours, real ingredients, and creating plates that feel just as good as they taste.
We care about where our food comes from, so whenever we can, we use locally sourced produce and organic ingredients. It’s our way of supporting the community around us while serving dishes that are fresh, vibrant, and made with intention. For us, plant-based food isn’t about restriction — it’s about creativity and nourishment.
The Each One Teach One philosophy runs through everything we do. We learn from each other, we share what we know, and we grow together — in the kitchen, in our community, and in every space we step into. Food is our medium, but connection is the real goal.
Whether you are vegan, plant-curious, or simply here for good flavour, we’d love you to explore what we do. Our menu is built with care — from hearty meals to small bites and desserts — and there’s truly something for everyone.
iHeartFood is more than a business to us. It’s a community, a movement toward better food, better choices, and better ways of living. Through pop-ups, meal prep, events, and collaborations across the Midlands, we’re committed to making plant-based eating feel welcoming, exciting, and accessible.
We’re grateful to share this journey with you, and we hope you’ll continue to grow with us as we build something meaningful, sustainable, and full of flavour.
