Saris of Strength

Join DESIblitz and the University of Birmingham for Saris of Strength — a moving tribute to the trailblazing South Asian women who reshaped UK history through their courage and activism. Taking place on 21st June from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Carrol Lecture Theatre, Muirhead Tower (next to the café), this special event features a screening of Saris of Strength & The Power of Unity, commemorating the historic Grunwick Strike.

Be inspired by a powerful panel discussion with frontline voices including Raghib Ahsan, Professor Sundari Anitha, the Birmingham Black Sisters, and the Indian Workers Association.

Plus, don't miss the eye-catching DESIblitz Truck Art Bus on campus, showcasing the brand-new Saris of Strengthexhibition — a celebration of resistance, identity, and unity.
